A PBS high school lesson plan encourages students to empathize with young Palestinian terrorists who want to become suicide bombers to achieve martyrdom and suggests they would rather die because Palestinians have less land and are restricted.
The “Dying to Be a Martyr” multimedia lesson plan is available free of cost to teachers and students at PBS Learning Media, reports Justin Haskins at the Heartland Institute. It utilizes videos titled “Martyrdom,” “Suicide Bombing,” and “Israel and Palestine,” as well as internet sites and primary sources “to examine the roots of the Middle East conflict.”
Students are asked to be able to understand “why individuals and groups sometimes turn to tactics of terrorism.”

As a taxpaying Hoosier I want to know why the State of Indiana is promoting this crap.
If they can get away with this, then we need to force them to include militias which consider themselves strict Constitutionals in the lesson plan. (But we’d need some conservatives to oversee how it’s done, or they would try to make distinctions as to why the militias are the bad guys, as opposed to the jihadists, even though militia groups haven’t committed a fraction of the violence that the jihadists have committed).
Not to mention, once again, why are taxpayer dollars going to this, even when many said taxpayers oppose the left’s POV? PBS and NPR need to be defunded by tax dollars. They are nothing more than the left’s mouthpiece, and it’s extortion to force taxpayers who oppose their agenda, to fund them.
CAIR can divert some of the money they send to terrorist groups, and give it to their sympathisers at NPR and PBS.
Then PBS can take their show on the road to Israel and run the same lesson plan, only this time as first responders and innocent bystanders after the explosion, picking up teddy bears and schools books left behind by dead children in Israel!!!
Palestinians should never get their own country...they should be confined and controlled for the animals they are!!! Never ever trust a rabid dog!!!
Defund PBS immediately! It’s long overdue anyway. Waste of our money. And we shouldn’t be forced to pay to pump enemy propaganda into our children! Defund PBS now!
This alone should be the example used to stop their government funding—once and for all!
I didn't read the entire article, so why do you mention Indiana? Thought this was about the Public Broadcasting Service which is nation wide. Also, I agree with other posts that PBS should get NO tax dollars.
While teaching the “why individuals and groups sometimes turn to tactics of terrorism.” it does not complete the lesson, that terrorism is wrong, evil and an egregious act to imply as means to one’s end.
This kind of action is nothing less than aiding and abetting our collective enemies to attack with any means necessary.
It’s time to rise up, stop talking on friendly forums and get out into the street and start fighting and shouting right back in these racists faces and say we will not go quietly, we will not roll over and surrender, but we will fight you to ensure the American way of life for this generation and all generations to come!

Terrorism is not something that is a result of poverty or restrictions unless one considers the restrictions of the religion itself.
Ask what makes a “good Muslim” and if the only answer is total belief and submission to the strict reading of the koran, then you have the real basis for violence. If the answer happens to be “live and let live” then one is in the camp that could assimulate into US society.
We should have lessons taught in school that teach the above rule (Golden Rule) and close the schools and Mosques that teach otherwise.
