Someone should make a free alternative to Facebook. No suspensions and banning for insulting special snowflakes. No “help us identify false news” BS.
If I knew how to code, I’d probably do it.
There are free and open source social networking servers GNU Social (https://gnu.io/social) and https://mastodon.social that anyone can install on a server (an instance) and then advertise to establish a community, and have their own moderation policy. Then the only commercial dependency is the web host or internet connection.
They can also communicate with other servers running the same software, so they are not closed systems like forums.
