As lawmakers consider a myriad of bills to curb the epidemic of inappropriate student-teacher relationships, the Texas Education Agency has opened over 150 investigations into the issue this school year, according to data obtained by mySA.com.
The agency has opened 159 cases so far in the 2016-17 school year, which began in August, said TEA spokeswoman DeEtta Culbertson in an email.

Yeah, all sorts of attractions take place in school situations. There was also a case in my hometown where a young male teacher who just fell for a HS senior and they snuck around and dated her senior year. They married soon after she finished HS and lived happily ever since, two children and now several grandchildren.
These relationships shouldn't happen, but they often do and they are not the sociological disasters some make them out to be. If everything is consensual, it might be best in most cases if nothing is ever found out. But that means all participants and friends with knowledge of it have to keep it totally confidential.
In most of the cases these days, there is electronic evidence - usually 'deleted' texts and pictures, less frequently emails.
No sane DA will take a case to trial without some real evidence.
Sorry.
God said the age of accountability is 13? What book of the Bible is that in?
.
Its in Leviticus, but not in such words.
It is the age when a boy becomes a man.
In reading the article, I noticed the DA isn’t mentioned at all. All they are saying is that the Texas Education Agency is using material provided by mySA.com that has uncovered information that displays for them a problem. In seeing that the TEA is investigating so many of these situations, it stands to reason for me that this has taken an extended amount of time to recognize the issues and if they were valid, should have been presented to law enforcement a long time ago.
The footwork to solidify this much would have taken well over a couple of years, and probably much more, from the start of the first inkling of improprieties to the decision to identify 159 cases. The didn’t mention in round numbers, they used exact. So either they are making up a number in the middle of no where or they have what they are willing to admit they have found or think they can prove.
And that’s one of the reasons why I am uncomfortable with the layout of this article and what it is portraying. It may be another witch hunt. They better have evidence or their little company may be in line for a multitude of law suites for liable or slander that will cost them more money than they have ever seen.
