What Venezuela does not have is the international political and economic clout China had. GHW Bush went directly from watching the Chinese commit a massacre to negotiating a trade deal with them. That isn't going to happen for Venezuela.
The interesting thing in all of this is I do not recall a peep out of President Trump or his administration in regards to what is going on in Venezuela. Maybe a loose lips sink ships type of situation.
