Former national security adviser Michael Flynn likely broke the law by failing to disclose foreign income he earned from Russia and Turkey, the heads of the House Oversight Committee said Tuesday.

Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said they believe Flynn neither received permission nor fully disclosed income he earned for a speaking engagement in Russia and lobbying activities on behalf of Turkey when he applied to reinstate his security clearance, after viewing two classified memos and Flynn’s disclosure form in a private briefing Tuesday morning.

“Personally I see no evidence or no data to support the notion that General Flynn complied with the law,” Chaffetz told reporters following the briefing.

He failed to disclose the payments, but did he intend to not disclose the payments. After all, that is the Comey standard now for prosecution.

Chaffetz is a die hard Never Trumper. A backstabbing bastard who never did anything worthwhile except run his mouth and act like a conservative. I’ll be glad when he’s gone.

Selective law enforcement is the very tyranny that birthed this country. The tree of freedom from time to time must be watered with the blood of tyrants.

Sad to see the leaves are drooping once again.

Then you should also “be glad” if about 75% of both houses of Congress could “be gone” too!

I noticed Cummings patted Chaffetz on the back as they left the microphone.

Much as one pets a dog who heels well.

Does it matter? Trump wont go after Clinton. Flynn will only get a slap on the wrist at best.

Only the poor sap who pays taxes and such has to obey the law.

And institute term limits for the SCOTUS as well. As it stands now, once their on the court, they often go off the reservation. The people should have a mechanism for redressing this kind of anti-Constitutional behavior.

So? Its ok to break the law, nobody does anything about it or Hillary and Obama would be in jail already. Non-issue.

How so? He took money from Ana airline, a cybersecurity firm and a television network. None of those are a foreign government...it’s not clear that he violated any law...

I heard on FOX when I wrote what you replied to that Flynn had possibly accepted money from Russia and Turkey and some middle eastern nation and flailed to disclose that which is breaking the law for ex generals in the military

Per the Fox expert

Yes I realize it’s a tool for all of Trumps foes which means everyone basically

This president is attempting to rule via himself and his closest advisors and cabinet alone

Against his own party and the opposition and every single culture marker institution I’m can think of except the military where he is loved by all but leftover Obama era PC REMF brass
