Left-leaning students are overwhelmingly awarded the Truman Scholarship, a federal scholarship granted to U.S. college juniors for demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to public service, according to a survey by The College Fix.
According to the survey, more than a third of Truman Scholarship recipients have ties to Democratic politicians or leftist activist groups. Only several had ties with Republican or right-leaning organizations.
More than 40 of the 112 scholars in 2015 and 2016 have ties to Democratic politicians or liberal groups while less than a handful were found to have worked for Republicans or conservative organizations.
Among the 2015 Truman Scholars, at least 26 had either worked for Democratic politicians and administrations, liberal-leaning organizations or were members of the College Democrats before or after they were awarded the Truman Scholarship. The Fix identified only two scholars as having ties to Republicans or conservative groups on their resumes.

And just to clarify, I think this sucks because pubicly funded awards should at least try to be non-partisan.
This is just one example of thousands - of how our our fiat Federal Reserve dollars - and massive government debt it supports - are the pillars of the progressive, collectivist nanny-state.

Frankly, I’m rather shocked Republicans were awarded any funds at all! How many faculty are there that even remotely identify themselves as Christian or Conservative are hired in the American university system? Practically NONE.
The education industrial establishment, under the control of Leftists and “progressives” does the same thing with tenure, insuring their own dominate who gets tenure and who doesn’t. It causes many beginning Conservative educators to leave academia. As a result, the process leaves fewer Conservative professors to engage students with points of view different from the education establishment. The establishment considers it “mission accomplished”.
Congress, wipe it out, out of the budget.

That explains it all!!! They didn’t make it “a commitment to human rights”, but it hardly matters!
Don’t blame Harry Truman. He was way to the right of today’s clintons and obamas!!!!
