Kansas City police say thanks to the public’s tips they have identified and arrested the man accused of pulling out a gun while ordering a sandwich at a Jimmy John’s. On Thursday police released clear surveillance video of the armed robbery. It happened just after 9:00 p.m., Wednesday. The man ...entered the restaurant, placed an order, then pulled a gun instead of a wallet out of his pocket and pointed it at the cashier.
The cashier handed over the money and then tried to give the robber the whole cash register tray, but he pushed it back.

I’ve been thinking about that. Wouldn’t that be murder if it was proved that you knew the robber’s gun could not fire?
Nope...he could easily clear the jam in seconds and you’d be dead....
Opponents jammed gun is simply considered a temporary tactical advantage in a gun fight...
Weapon would not have fired. It has a round pinched in the action. Thats what happens when you don’t keep a semi auto cleaned and oiled. Too bad the kid cashier wasn’t packing his own....red

Another predatory black thug, shocker. At least the security cam footage is nice and clear so hopefully he’ll be aprehended and incarcerated before killing someone.

Look at that robber; young, healthy, expensive clothes. Doesn’t look like a crackhead. Doesn’t look desperate. Probably sticks up stores for the fun of it.

One of my "If I were king" fantasies would be to mandate that all security cameras be HD. Support that with a tax or tax rebate or SOMETHING or even just from the Treasury as it is a positive for society.
Been watching a lot of Investigation Discovery shows and almost consistently, when they do have CCTV footage, it is mostly useless - fuzzy beyond hope. In one case they had some NASA-type enhancement to solve a case. How much did that cost?

How about insurance companies offering a discount for installing HD security cameras? They would benefit from higher recovery rates and fewer incidents on their insured's property.
Another picture that keeps the 80% ratio intact. What if the worker had a gun? He could have nailed that black dude and put him out of his misery. I have also read that he was caught later on.

That would be an ideal way to go - if it worked. How many of those run-on-a-shoestring 9-11s would go that route - claim the discount and install lesser quality cameras? Unless a crime actually occurred, how would the company find out they were chiseled??
Once I thought that seat belts shouldn't be mandated, the incentive being that the insurance companies were absolved of paying benefits if the victims weren't wearing seat belts. Lotta people (illegals, etc.) don't carry insurance.

I’ve favored an ‘implied consent’ law similar to the one that says the act of having a driver license and driving on a public road implies that you have consented to drug/alcohol testing where an officer has reason to believe you are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle.
If you or a minor loved one under your control are killed with no seat belt in a car or helmet on a bike, you have given your implied consent for you or your child to be an organ donor...
