You could cut 100% of discretionary spending, and it still would not get the Federal budget under control. Most spending (2/3rds) is on Entitlements, and of that, Social Security and Medicare, Medicaid, ObamaCare takes up the largest share.

That’s why the article mentioned a need to reform such things to be sustainable.
(I would be perfectly happy to eliminate them, but the scream, even from this board, would be heard from Ogunquit to Honolulu.)
