Lawmakers strike budget deal to fund government through Sept. 30 (We are being screwed over again)

Congressional leaders have reached a deal to fund the government through the rest of the government's fiscal year, a congressional aide has confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers agreed to a $1.070 trillion package to fund the government through September 30.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., praised the budget deal as a "good agreement for the American people" that "takes the threat of a government shutdown off the table."

"The bill ensures taxpayer dollars aren't used to fund an ineffective border wall, excludes poison pill riders, and increases investments in programs that the middle-class relies on, like medical research, education, and infrastructure,"

Schumer said in a statement. "Early on in this debate, Democrats clearly laid out our principles. At the end of the day, this is an agreement that reflects those principles."

[I believe if things keep going, there will be some type of revolution....]

Suffice to say, the economic chickens are going to come home to roost at some point....

You’re 100% right, but what do we do?

Do we run candidates against the incumbents? Yes.

Do those people stand a chance of winning? A very slim one. At the end of the day, the people have proven that they have no problem sending back, the very people that are causing all of this...Ryan, Cochran, McConnel, Graham, etc etc etc

Does Congress really have to filled with nothing but millionaires and scumbag lawyers, that are beholden to nothing, but the Chamber of Commerce, big business and lobbyists? Shouldn’t, but that certainly seems like the way it has to be.

Trump was supposed to be the one that started and WON the revolution. Not by taking up arms, but by having millions of supporters, so he could take an axe to Congress, the federal government and the massive monsters that has become the federal code and federal regulations.

It would appear that he has had the “talk”, and he will now roll over, pay lip service to the people that supported him and do what he is told. Every day, we move toward some type of world like those seen in movies like, The Hunger Games or Divergent.

“We gave them [Republicans] the house, and the senate,...”

Only if you’re counting all the RINOs - don’t forget the “in name only” part!

Republicans won the executive branch in November and maintained control of the legislative branch IN NAME ONLY. That branch is still thoroughly controlled by the leftist uniparty.

Trump is doing well with what he has but he’s not a dictator - we need advocates of limited government in congress. Clearly, it’s not enough that they have an R next to their name.

I’m amazed that these RINOs are exposing themselves by openly opposing the agenda of a president of their own party. If Trump continues to put a spotlight on this treachery, the RINOs will get primaried, repealed and replaced.

Unfortunately, that will take years, but no one said MAGA was going to be easy.

if Pres. Trump went after Ryan as he has done with the MSM,
then he would not be losing his base.

No more Republicans. EVER.

Today’s news from Trump.

We need a good long shutdown in September to clean up stuff.
Did/will Trump draw a line and telegraph a veto?

Somebody better wake up the turtle.

The spending deal lasts 5 months.

Go to the mattress for the Budget, that’s the battle that counts.

There have been a lot of shocked faces around here lately.

There are few truths that you have to accept:

1. For the most part Trump is doing what he said he would do. Most of us are happy about that.
2. Trump is a deal maker. That means getting most of want you want—which means the hard liners around here are going to be butt-hurt.
3. Trump is NOT a far right conservative. He is a New York Moderate. He always has been. He always will be.

After Korea gets wiped off the face of the earth we will have more important things to worry about.

Actually your assumption that he can “not spend” money appropriated.

That is one of the things that got Nixon in trouble. He used holdbacks to pinch people to get them to do what he wanted. That was illegal.

If the Congress says the Army needs a new Fighting Vehicle...they get it.

Dems won WITHOUT A FIGHT. Trump gave up. Gave in to Ryan and so-called Republicans in Congress. At least he could have tried. People can make excuses for this but as a Trump supporter, I won’t. Trump is piling up errors and losses, broken promises that are becoming his record. That is reality. Where’s the scrappy Trump that was going to drain the swamp, build the wall, defund Planned Parenthood, defund sanctuary cities, etc.?

Good luck with that.

Idealogue or not he needs to do his best to follow up on his campaign promises.

Signing this budget betrays the wall and his position on planned parenthood and sanctuary cities

Also—Where is the appeal on the travel ban? Gorsuch is in place. So what is the hold up?

Same with the sanctuary cities ruling. where is the appeal?

No wall, no travel ban, sanctuary cities fully funded, and planned parenthood funded as well. I’m pretty sure that’s NOT what we voted for.

In terms of the sanctuary city stuff, the congress needs to start adding that criteria to every spending bill. Money that is already appropriated cannot be withdrawn unless the specific reason is written into the law.

In my mind its not that big of a “failure” as long as the line is put into spending bills moving forward. It will kill them (the cities) slowly.
