Democrats confident they can block Trump’s agenda after spending-bill win
Washington Post ^ | May 1, 2017 | Kelsey Snell and John Wagner

Democrats believe they have set the stage to block President Trump’s legislative priorities for years to come by winning major concessions in a spending bill to keep the government open.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) secured nearly $5 billion in new domestic spending by exploiting disagreements between President Trump and GOP lawmakers over spending priorities.

Democrats’ lopsided victory on the five-month deal, which is likely to be approved this week, means it will be very difficult — if not impossible — for the GOP to exert its will in future budget negotiations, including when it comes to Trump’s 2018 budget blueprint.

Everything I read, including on the couple conservative sites that I could find, says that there is no funding for the wall.

I trust you more than they. Where do we find that information?

When your opponents grovel at your feet as they lick your boots, it’s a safe bet that you have them beat. I expect surrender from Ryan but Trump is a complete disappointment. I guess Invanka told him to heel and he listened.

PRyno should have already instituted regular order. A Trump veto would be a great way to call out the Swamp Dweller Zombies.

Remember also that most departments are still under review as to how they can be cut.

“says that there is no funding for the wall.”

The $1.5 billion can’t be used for new sections of a wall, but can be used to repair/upgrade areas where the fencing has failed and can also us it for additional tech tools, all of which had to be done anyway.

Isn’t this ‘budget’ just the 6 month ‘extension’ BO foisted upon us last year?
Granted it is the R’s in the Majority but this is NOT the 1st PRESIDENT Trump budget, it is the LAST pResident BO’s budget?

Some talk of a ‘bloodbath’ in the 2018 Senate & Congress votes but how much is that going to be US in protest of the RINOS that are tearing the party down?

Of course it won’t be reported that way but......

Seriously, the Democrats control both houses of congress.

Heck, the Dems still control the Executive branch via the 9th Circuit court, and their minions who still infest the alphabet agencies.

Please be aware that fence, wall, barrier, moat...are all the same thing if they do what is intended.

It's the word "wall" that is being wrongly tossed around.

Israel defines their "wall" as a fence.

IIRC, Hillary used the term wall very early on to define the security issue with Mexico. But her "wall" was a "fence".

I’m pretty sure that things will turn around soon enough once President Trump is ready for the battle. For now, it’s up to us to put pressure on Congress, counter the fake news as best we can, and don’t lose heart!

If we give up, we’ve lost the war before it’s even begun.

McConnell went nuclear and got Trumps’ SC pick on the bench, he also got Sessions appointed. This is all Ryan, McConnell had nothing to do with it.

There should be a ban against posting WP fake news.

I couldn't agree more. Nix the NY Times while we're at it. Both should be banned from FR.

The Democrats didn't get anything. They got what they had.

Trump got the new stuff...for the military, for the Mexican border....etc etc....

Lots more to come.

“Problem is he doesn’t have enough support in Congress to get it done in full.”

How is it that when Obama was in office, the federal government was shutdown and the Republicans got blamed, until they caved to Obama’s agenda? why couldn’t Trump insist on money for the wall, defunding Planned Parenthood, etc, and when the government got shut down because democrats wouldn’t support such a bill, then Trump could point the finger at the intransigence of the demoncrats for causing the government to close. can’t the repubs play the same game as the dems? forget how the MSM would react. “weak as water” as Mrs. Slocum used to say.
