I had the same thing, till my employer canceled everyone’s health insurance.

I was able to get COBRA until it expired after 16 months then I was completely unable to buy it from ANYONE!

That’s not right...

Years ago our small company got a group plan through the SBA.

Wonder what the requirements are for group plans? Can it be a church group, club, bunch of friends?
