I have to disagree — Aren’t Confederate memorials and statues being torn down in New Orleans and elsewhere in the South? Aren’t some schools renaming buildings which were long named for former slave owners?

To me, those acts and many more, are part of erasing “uncomfortable” (i.e. politically incorrect) aspects of US history.

Sorry - my comment was aimed at the author of this article who was suggesting that the history of the Confederados was being deliberately obliterated. I would agree that leftists of various stripe are attempting to “whitewash” the new south of references to the Civil War.
