As you've probably seen, the latest rant from the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea", they've threatened to nuke the White House, calling the US “murderous ogres”, “robbers”, “air pirates” and “warriors who master the occult arts”.
It's easy to see North Korea's rants as hyperbole. But this is literally how they actually portray America to their citizens.
In North Korean propaganda, Americans literally are vicious, bloodthirsty beasts. They shoot Korean children at point blank in the head for fun. They brand them with red-hot irons. They nail written messages into their heads. They saw the tops of their heads off, while other soldiers watch on snickering. They rip women's teeth out. They even throw babies down wells. All of the most disgusting, inhuman things you can think of? That's literally how they portray Americans.
And the part about destroying the White House? They've been presenting propaganda about Korea destroying the White House and congress for ages. Here a DPRK soldier smashes the capitol building (crosshair over it) with bombs from the left. Here he smashes it from overhead with his fists. Here is literally North Korean ICBMs destroying the capitol building, and here's one with them mid-flight en-route to DC. And another. And another. Or rather than aiming specifically at DC, this one is just hitting the US in general. Lady Liberty too. They've been posting this stuff for years - while steadily working towards having the actual capability to carry out the things that they unrelentingly threaten; one of the most common motif in North Korean propaganda art is soldiers advancing while missiles fly overhead.

What they teach in kindergarten is pretty much the same crap our media foisted on us concerning Abu Ghraibh.
There was one story about Abu Ghraibh under Saddam, where people underwent hideous tortures... but what did our press report on instead? 14,000 or so stories about the gal with the dog leash, etc.

As a teenager back in the 60’s I purchased a short wave radio to amuse myself with during the long winter nights. This was during the Cold War and it didn’t take long to discover the propaganda programming from behind the iron curtain. The most entertaining programs were those from North Korea. Nothing has changed regarding the insane nature of their statements. The thing that has changed is that with nuclear weapons a definite possibility this fat, little weirdo could actually inflict some serious damage.
They already have it.
