Hey Susan...tell your constituents to practice birth control. If ANYONE needs an abortion, let THEM pay for it. If they cannot pay for it, tell them to keep their pants on.

I teach classic lit Shakespeare, Jane Austen to middle schoolers. They always want to know why the father chooses the husband or at least has to approve and what’s with all the rules. I present to them a very simple casethe guys agree when they imagine having a daughter. The girls are pretty socialized to be feminist non thinkers by that age.

It was always, until the onset of birth control, that women would not waste their time on a guy with no means of support. They wouldn’t act married before marriage and they wouldn’t marry a guy who could not financially be a father and husband

How is this better?
