The President at St. Olaf College has informed members of the campus community that a racist note an African-American woman found on her car April 29 was fabricated . President David R. Anderson wrote in an an email that the note was "apparently a strategy to draw attention to concerns about the campus climate."
The school confirmed the email was sent, as well as an earlier email from Anderson informing the campus community the school had confirmed the note was not a genuine threat.
Students said the woman discovered a typed note that read, in part, "I am so glad that you are leaving soon. One less (expletive) that this school has to deal with. You have spoken up too much. You will change nothing. Shut up or I will shut you up.'
The note spawned a sit-in that continued through the weekend. The college canceled class that Sunday night in anticipation of that Monday's planned demonstrations.

These hoaxes never work out very well, but like Wile E. Coyote they keep on trying.

Hey, come on. They wouldn’t be pulling these hoaxes if the campus climate weren’t so oppressive & racist. In fact, these things would have eventually happened anyway, so.......there.
Lemme see here.......racist symbols and notes especially on college campuses determined to be fabricated or done by their own race......check. Women of the mooselimb persuasion threatened with bodily harm and rape and destroying their head rags by white males determined to be fabricated by themselves.......check. Hmmm, I see a pattern here.....(just damn)
That is the really pernicious thing about these hoaxes - when they happen the perpetrators were always “well meaning” who were only intending to raise awareness. God, I so despise self-loathing liberals.

Where do the students go to get that sunday night class back? A canceled class is a canceled education. How does the school plan to turn back the hands of time to make that up to the students?
It was all about raising awareness on campus and she succeeded. She raised awareness of hate crime hoaxes.
