If you dig WAY WAY down into the article, it does actually mention, in passing, that she’s a Democrat... If she had been a Republican, it would have been in the headline.

I could tell she was a (D) by the fact it was neither in the headline, nor the first sentence.

“Republican John Doe (Republican - In the 56th state), who is a member of the Republican party, was convicted of fraud while a member of the Republican party and is a Republican.”
