Airline mechanics assigned to perform critical maintenance on the fleet of Air Force One planes used to fly President Donald Trump and previous presidents were caught using contaminated tools on the craft, causing more than $4 million in damage that could have caused a fire to break out on the plane, according to a federal investigation.

Three mechanics working for Boeing, which has a contract to perform critical maintenance on the Air Force One fleet, "failed to observe explicit warnings" while attempting to clean the plane at a Boeing-owned plant in San Antonio, Texas.

Boeing, which has caused a firestorm on Capitol Hill over its efforts to sell Iran billions of dollars worth of planes that many suspect will be used to facilitate terrorism operations, caused more than $4 million in damage to the plane.

The rumor that the 3 “mechanics” names were Pedro, Juan and Pasquale have nothing at all to do with the “accidental” contamination of the President’s plane.

More likely some idiot using his engine wrench on the oxygen system rather than using a clean one. Mixing pure oxygen and flammable substance can cause a problem, as in

Houston, we have a problem.

suppose this was the same crew that did maintenance on AF2 that went down with Ron Brown?

bonus assignment: check Clinton death list for numerous victims of air plane/helicopter crashes.

the aviation “accident” body count will amaze you.

’ next we’ll hear that the butler or chef put something in his drink or food! Just like in ancient times the king had to have food tasters in his court....’

I think Kushner, the son in law, should have that job.

Three of them. I could see one, but three? Did they go to the same class or something? I’d like to know why it happened.

“Oil and O2 don’t mix.”

“Hey, the threads on this oxygen fitting seems to be stripped. Doesn’t want to go back on.”

“Just squirt on some WD-40 and torque it harder.”

On the death of Khaled Bin Mahfouz, August 25, 2009;
“On the West Coast, Boeing directors must recall with fondness the 5% they paid Mahfouz, the fixer, to win perhaps their largest contract ever. And the middlemen in Saudi Arabia who also benefited from their involvement with Mahfouz in clinching the deal must be reminiscing.”

I saw an article last year that most aircraft maintenance is contracted out, and that the contractors are often bottom feeders who use Mexican (and other foreign nationals) as "mechanics" and "technicians". It used to be that you had to have military training, and then go through the airlines own tech academy. Not any more. Those days are gone with the wind.

“I cannot even comprehend how this is allowed to happen.”

You hire idiots and pay them nothing. Manager gets a bonus for saving money.

Subbing this maintenance out is probably a Bad Idea.

Having seen some of the filthy and broken conditions on commercial airplanes, I'm not surprised.

BUT THIS IS AIR FORCE ONE!

If this is determined to be sabotage, then someone who speaks English and wears a suit needs to do serious prison time.

Aircraft skin can be damaged if you don’t use special alloy tools. Some metals will rapidly corode if scratched by certain metals. Hard to in aging a certified aircraft mechanic making this kind of mistake.

I agree: Sabotage?

I hope the federal agents in all tarnished branches take their job seriously under Trump - no matter what they think of him.
