If it’s true that Iceland is basically a “closed country” in that natives only marry other natives, etc., it’s just a matter of time until Icelanders become so inbred that, like the Amish and other “closed” societies, they start to experience 6-finger dwarfism, mentally handicapped children, etc.

Actually my gut reaction when I read the story was he was poisoned by the handshake rather than something dropped in his drink. I’ve read that some more sophisticated poisons can be transmitted via a handshake (if proper precautions are taken by the would be assassin)
How do the doctors know the poison was in his drink?
