Trump’s Expansion of Mexico City Policy Is a Major Victory in Protecting Life
Dailty Signal ^ | 05/17/2017 | Rep. Chris Smith

Someday, future generations of Americans will look back on us and wonder how and why such a rich and seemingly enlightened society, so blessed and endowed with the capacity to protect and enhance vulnerable human life, could have instead so aggressively promoted death to children by abortion—both here and overseas.

They will note that we prided ourselves on our commitment to human rights, while precluding virtually all protection to the most persecuted minority in the world today—unborn children.

And they will demand to know why dismembering a child with sharp knives, pulverizing an infant with powerful suction devices, or chemically poisoning a baby with any number of toxic chemicals failed to elicit in so many so much as a scintilla of empathy, mercy, or compassion for the victims.

Abortion is violence against children, and hurts women.

This week, the Trump administration announced the implementation of the new Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance policy—a significant reiteration and expansion of President Ronald Reagan’s Mexico City policy.

The Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance policy will significantly mitigate U.S. taxpayer complicity in global abortion.

That's good. When will that apply here in America?

Well said and worth repeating

You know the guilt trip so many are on because of the slave thing in early America? Well that guilt trip won't hold a candle to the severity of shame that will come crashing down on this generation of infanticide.

These are not small potatoes, I read in this article or another that it amounts to defunding Planned Parenthood International of Nine Billion Dollars.

In both cases, we see a bad failure of faith.

God didn’t want those racial chattel slaves to have been made.

God didn’t want mothers to despise their children so.

The problem is that we’re trying to fix all that with a “conservative” mindset — “just leave them alone and they’ll do fine.”

But God has a liberal side too. And if it is left in a vacuum, the world will stumble up with its poor imitations of solutions.

I just don’t get it. DNC claims to be for the little people. The minorities. Yet they are SO pro abortion. I read about this in the OT. GOD DIDNT COMMAND THAT WE KILL OUR OWN CHILDREN, NOR DID THAT EVER EVEN ENTER HIS MIND.

Funds are being cut back to Planned Parenthood right now.

Several batches of PP clinics closed the other day.

Trump already signed legislation freeing up states to withhold their federal grant money from PP.

He pushed the House health care bill, and one of the tenets of it, was to completely defund Planned Parenthood.

It took us a long time to get here. I think he’s doing the best he can.

He has cut off all funding to international efforts that even support abortions, not even performing them.

Took a while but major highlight for the administration so far.

I heard Ivanka was lobbying him not do it.

No. I don’t agree. Abortion will never be made illegal, even if the SC court reverses Roe v. Wade because a ton of states already allow abortion per state law. It is really easy to travel to a state that allows abortion. Plus, as a society, it is increasingly evil, so no, no future generation is going to look back and declare abortion the evil it is. In fact, with assisted suicide increasingly being made legal, the sanctity of life is being further eroded. Euthanasia is slowing making inroads on our shores.

We’re in a cultural and spiritual war and the battle is becoming more intense in these end times. The DNC and the Left generally are of the spirit of antichrist manifested by “political correctness.” The spirit of antichrist is a lying spirit of death. It is a spirit of deception, delusion, and are self-contradictory as you pointed out

The only way we can battle this subtle, deceptive spirit of the Left is to lean on Jesus Christ and ask him to establish us in his word and his grace.

At the same time, by his grace, we need to reach out with God’s grace and love to these, many of whom are the blind being lead by the blind.

God bless you.

It’s good, but not enough. We should not be satisfied until these unconstitutional federal court abortion decisions are nullified - the Constitution gives the feds no authority to interfere in abortion issues - and state anti-abortion laws are reinstated.

Not sure what you don’t agree with. The severity of shame that will come crashing down on this generation of infanticide will be gargantuan.

Jim, I’m not trying to be hyper-critical here, but the man has already done more than ANY other president to address this issue.

I choose to address that, praise that, and accept that he will do more.

He has demonstrated his will on the matter, and for a guy trashed incessantly as a Leftist, he’s accomplished more of our agenda already, than almost every other president.

He deserves our kudos, not constant nagging.

Trump’s done a lot, perhaps your candidate is Ted “do nothing” Cruz.

Absolutely. I am more than thrilled with Trump’s accomplishments. I thank God almost every day for giving us Trump at this time.

What I am saying is not so much addressed to Trump as to the rest of us. Trump can’t and shouldn’t do it all. We the People must understand that we have a job ahead of us to take down the 80% unconstitutional portion of the federal government including unconstitutional acts and decisions.

This can and should be done at the state level, especially in regards to abortion. For example, individual states should nullify and reject unconstitutional Roe v. Wade and should reinstate the anti-abortion laws that the feds unconstitutionally overturned.

I can't explain myself any clearer. I will repeat I can't explain myself any clearer. Society is slowly degrading itself. Twenty five percent of Americans no longer believe a God even exists. The church pews are emptying. Under these conditions, people are not going to change their points of view on abortion. Abortion will continue to be legal even if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

Every method to influence society's view of abortion has been used and failed. It won't be any more successful in the future.

Do you understand now or are you still confused?

Thank you Jim.

Trump’s signing of the bill that gave cover to the states so they could withhold federal government grant money from Planned Parenthood, was a good example of Trump doing something on the subject that nobody would have expected.

I’ve seen him do this on a number of issues, almost shocking me how in tune he was with the minutia that exists on the peripheral of Conservatism.

He didn’t just jump to our side in broad stokes. This guy gets if far better than some Conservatives do. He’s fully engaged and doing everything in his power to do what is right.

This guy may not get it all done, but it won’t be for not trying. Where he makes the innocent mistake, it will hurt, but I know this guy is on my side.

He does love this nation. He is trying to get it back on track.

Not referencing you on this, but it saddens me to see so many people focusing on Ivanka / Jared / or even some important issue that do need to be addressed, and yet failing to acknowledge the incredible turn-around that is taking place.

We are blessed to be able to have a front row seat here at Free Republic. We can share the experience with other like minded people, and be glad to be alive watching this unfold.
