I was friends - perhaps "close acquaintance" would be more accurate - with a young fellow who, step by step, assumed a female identity. It was a profoundly disturbing experience and it left me with absolutely no doubt that this is a serious, debilitating mental issue. It isn't a "social construct", it isn't a matter of validating a harmless fantasy, and it isn't the sort of thing that is resolved by a more or less complete game of make-believe.

This was a private conclusion, or at least it was until I posted it to the Internet just now. What is equally disturbing is the evangelical fervor shown by liberals that I am entitled neither to express it nor even to hold it. More disturbing still is the degree to which they have succeeded in subverting the powers of the state in pursuit of crude mind control. Notice here the smoothness of transition between "would you be a friend" and "would you date someone", a negative answer to either being a prima facie conviction of intolerance at the hands of the entirely intolerant. This is war, and they're winning.
