I've never known a 'transgender'. I've known numerous homosexuals, male and female, got along with most, friends with some. Mostly through music and Drum Corps. A few were somewhat flamboyant about it, but never 'In Your Face'; They kinda kept it among themselves.
As an aside, look up 'Angie Zapata'. She was a 'he', and when a guy found out, he beat 'it' to death with a fire extinguisher. Ken Buck, my current congresscritter, was DA at the time, and this was the first 'hate crime' conviction in the country.

Should have been ‘She’ was a he. Sorry about all the quotation marks, but that’s the best way to describe it. And I bet somebody is going to say something about me using ‘quotations’, rather than “quotations”.

I approve if the death penalty for murder, and that is what I would have voted for in the case you referred to. The answer is not to give members of vulnerable groups special protection with enhanced sentences for those who commit crimes against them. The answer is to give all violent criminals enhanced sentences.

Murder is murder. The concept of a “hate crime” is a perversion of justice.
