Frank Zappa put it best. In the sixties there were the old guys with the cigars choosing the bands that would get recorded. They had no idea what it was, but they gave it a chance.

Then the young “hip” guys who think they knew what the kids wanted started choosing the acts to sign, and all the creativity went away.

Only Concert I have ever walked out on ... and 1/2 the folks there were in front or behind ...

I was 17 and I did not appreciate him ... now it is different and I do not know what Contractual BS preceded his really terrible performance (he just stood on the stage like he was a Mistro waving around a couple o wands doing classical music while everyone booed)

He was more complex and better than a 17 year old need be Judging
