The CIA has damaged America far more than it has ever helps. It misses every single attack on us. Their British and Euro cloak and dagger crap has made the USA hated and mistrusted around the world.
Its probably time the USA tried being honest and honorable and nightmarishly strong for anyone who wants to try something.
Chuck Norris isn’t safe in his neighborhood because he listens in on his neighbors, inflames petty arguments, uses thugs to do things on his behalf, and betrays everyone who trusts him. Norris is safe because he has honor and because there are immediate and dire results for anyone who decides to screw with him.
Stimson was right and its shallow to pretend he was naïve. He was an honorable man. He was what a man should be, not some damned sneak. Nobody respects a sneak.
You forgot to tell everyone a little more about Stimson. He was Secretary of War starting in 1940. After his gentlemanly trust was betrayed, he was eyeballs deep in the Manhattan project.
Truman created an The Interim Committee, which began in May 1945 with Stimson as its chairman. One of the Committee’s recommendations for President Truman came from the June 1, 1945 meeting. As stated in the Committee notes for that meeting, “ The atomic bomb should be used against Japan as soon as possible; that it be used on a war plant surrounded by workers’ homes; and that it be used without prior warning.”
Nations are the same as individuals. Reading other people mail is indeed the behavior of a pussy. A man doesn’t do it. A real mans protection is his decency and strength. It is the swift and certain destruction of anyone who is a sneak and gets in a rabbit punch.
America used to know this before they got too deeply involved with Brits and post war Nazis.

Possibly. But the secret things that the OSS did changed the dimensions and reshaped the war. They used every tool they had available. They need apologize to no one.
Has it gone too far now (in time of peace?). I agree, but not because they can listen to almost thoughts, the problem is to focus on our enemies, not run the vacuum cleaning truck over all our citizens.
We should choose our allies based on trust and honesty. But never loose track of the fact that most of the world is not honorable and never will be. Especially in the Middle East.
