The Senate Intelligence Committee, which is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential race, has asked President Trump’s political organization to gather and produce all Russia-related documents, emails and phone records going back to his campaign’s launch in June 2015, according to two people briefed on the request.

The letter from the Senate arrived at Trump’s campaign committee last week and was addressed to the group’s treasurer. Since then, some former staffers have been notified and asked to cooperate, the people said. They were not authorized to speak publicly.

How about they ask for all of the documents on the Obama administration and all of the intelligence agencies spying on the Trump campaign?

The more of this crap I read the more I realize we are in a civil war. I maybe stating the obvious but volume is really getting turned up. The FBI won’t give congress info but the White House is supposed to.

No. You don’t need any campaign documents. None of your business.

Yeah. The Trump team position, at this point, ought to be they can’t release any documents except to the special counsel. Not sure how to do this without appearing that they’re trying to hide something.

This is political grandstanding at its worst. Congressional investigations have been going on for months and they’re just requesting the documents now? This is all part of the grand plan of both parties to get rid of Trump.

They must reply that all requested documents will be provided to Mueller and all further inquiries should be directed to him

Must apply only to individuals employed by the campaign

Not just that. How is oversight of the conduct of a US election campaign by ONE candidate even part of oversight of the US intelligence community?

Mission: The Committee was created by the Senate in 1976 to "oversee and make continuing studies of the intelligence activities and programs of the United States Government," to "submit to the Senate appropriate proposals for legislation and report to the Senate concerning such intelligence activities and programs," and to "provide vigilant legislative oversight over the intelligence activities of the United States to assure that such activities are in conformity with the Constitution and laws of the United States."

Senate Intelligence Committee

Is there ANYTHING this committee can't do?

If it even had the authority to investigate "Russian meddling," then, if it wasn't just a bunch of partisan hacks, it would demand responses from ALL the campaigns.

Where is the precedent? The Republicans in the Senate and Congress need to stand up to this insurrection effort. So what if other countries endorse or prefer a candidate. Most Mexican media promoted Hillary. Is it not their prerogative? Why is this a one party sedition?
