USAA to Stop Running Ads on Maddow’s Show After Facing HUGE Backlash For Pulling Ads From Hannity

After facing a huge backlash for pulling ads from Fox News’ Sean Hannity, USAA announced that they will also be pulling ads from liberal MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s show.

Earlier this week, TGP reported USAA, an insurance, bank and financial services company that caters to active duty military, veterans and their families, is getting slammed by members after announcing on Twitter Wednesday night the company was withdrawing advertising on the Sean Hannity show in response to pressure from liberal activists trying to silence Hannity by cutting off his advertising base. It was not stated by USAA if they advertised on Hannity’s Fox News Channel show or his nationally syndicated radio show.

The effort to drive Hannity off the air was promoted by Democratic Party front group Media Matters which posted a list of Hannity’s advertisers this week for liberals to complain to after Hannity pursued the unsolved 2016 murder of Democratic Party activist Seth Rich in Washington, D.C. and possible connections to Wikileaks.

Too late USAA. Damage done by bending over to liberals crying and whining BS. This fixes nothing.

Way too late. This move after the explanation to keep with Madcow totally laid open their utter disdain for the people they were supposed to have served as their customer base. I was exploring the change from State Farm to USAA but have now re-upped with State Farm because of this.

Not on my back, you ungrateful hypocritical bassturds. I hope someone from there is reading this because now they have initiated my own personal business to let all of my veteran friends and associates know what they have done.

In NewLibWorld, advertisers will shortly realize they are
ONLY permitted to run ads on Lib-Approved programming.

What about the rest of MadCow’s advertisers? This is the game they want to play. Let’s play.

1 down more to go. Chrissy Mathew’s is next! That’s fascinating, since even last night, USAA advertised on Hardball on MSNBC, and how does the Chris Matthews record on helping military families match next to Hannity’s?

Oh let us not forget their NFL support of that 49’s Krappernack. Who BTW is STILL JOBLESS!

Why does it matter who adverises on Madcows show? What matters is how many viewers watch the show and buy the products because of the ads . Are you a Madcow viewer?

A bigger question is why USAA advertises outside of the military and veteran community?

In my area, I see and hear a lot of advertising from companies like USAA and Navy Federal Credit Union. There are several military bases in Maryland, so I assume that is why the ads are all over TV and radio here. Local businesses also target military personnel with their advertising.

Do these companies advertise in areas where there is very little military presence?

Would USAA have stopped advertising on MSNBC has there not been a backlash? I doubt it.

EXACTLY. Also, why is USAA spending member's money on targeted local San Antonio charities and social issues under the guise of "corporate responsibility". The only responsibility the USAA board has is to it's members.

IF Maddow’s supposed to be a genius, and everyone who enjoys her style of “journalism” thinks they’re lucky to have her, then why would any honest and well-meaning corporation pay to advertise during her show?...Because they know that not only has there always been a sucker born every minute, they know that nowadays there are three.

I had a chat with the customer rep there (I’m a happy customer with USAA). So, for a number of years, they’ve had a advertising policy of not putting ad’s on any type programming that involves religion, news, or opinionated shows. As the person pointed out...this was to prevent the exact episode that occurred. For some odd reason in the past year....either through a new employee or some misunderstanding within USAA...someone started contracts with a couple of news-related shows. This episode popped up, and the folks at the top asked when did policy change because they didn’t sign up news shows of any kind in their long-term policy.

Long-story short...every single contract with all news organizations will come to end shortly.

I would suggest that people evaluate their situation. I’ve had accounts with three exceptionally lousy banking organizations over the past decade. One of them (Prudential) practically did everything possible to chase me away from their services. For three years, USAA has done precisely what I requested....friendly service....and absolutely no screw-ups. Running away from them means you have to find a replacement service, and I’m not that confident that you can find a decent service or competent organization.

Same here, Millington, TN is a small burg, but home to a Navy Base...BUPERS admin paper pushers. Loaded with Brass, and Pilots do touch and goes on the weekends. The airstrip was bought by the city, with Navy retaining rights to use it. Hospital is closed so all medical is OFF base. Rent a Guards on gates most of the time, except High Alerts.

“The only responsibility the USAA board has is to it’s members.”

Not positive, but I think “members” are actually classified as “owners” in the organization.
