What Is Washington Post Hiding About Its Jared Kushner Story? [Refuses to share Anonymous Letter]

The Washington Post editors refuse to publicly release the smoking gun “anonymous letter” that serves as the foundation of their sensational charge that White House advisor Jared Kushner sought a secret, back-channel to Russian officials.

The “anonymous letter” was part of a front-page article claiming the president’s son-in-law sought to set up a private communications channel to Russian officials during a discussion with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The piece was published Sunday and received high profile coverage throughout the long Memorial Day weekend.

“The Post was first alerted in mid-December to the meeting by an anonymous letter, which said, among other things, that Kushner had talked to Kislyak about setting up the communications channel,” the article’s three authors stated.

What the hell is a “secret back channel” anyway?

If the President of the USA, or someone close to him, wants to talk to Putin, Xi in China, or any other ruler - they simply call them.

Someone please explain to me why this is even a question.

The funny thing is, even if this information is entirely true, it means absolutely nothing.

Given the facts that we're already aware of—massive spying by the Obama admin (without even knowing many of the shameful details)—it's clear that there were perfectly legitimate reasons for potentially making such arrangements.

So it's a yuge nothing-burger either way for the Swamp; the Democrats and Media (but I repeat myself) are basically taking a shiny object and acting as if it's something important—until a new one comes along...

Here’s what the lefties don’t get: Suppose for a minute that the Trump campaign actually did “collude” with the Russians. SO WHAT? Seriously, who cares? I sure don’t. I’m just glad Hildebeast didn’t win. The Trump landslide was a good thing. I doubt any help they got from the Russians was not needed.

I have a theory why the media is going after Kushner the way they are...I think it is because both ivanka and Kushner have a weakness that is being exploited. the two are both more liberal then what most of us who support trump would like to see in his inner circle so the reaction of most trump Supporters to a political attack on him is not to be as supportive then a attack on trump himself or an attack on most of his appointments.

at this point I think the George Soros play book is to look for weakness in support for an individual and then take them out. I think it explains how come they went after roger Ailes and after Bill O’riely. at this point I believe that rather then attacking trump head on the deep state, media maters and the never Trumpers are going after the support system that trump has. the idea being to make sure that any changes he makes while in office is short term rather then long term permanent changes.

they would love to take Trump out but at this point the ones pulling the strings in Washington realize thjat wont happen so the game is to delay change and minimize what ever Trump does.

Gee, do you think they'd publish articles based on anonymous letters about Seth Rich? And then protect the anonymity and weakness in the source implicating the DNC?

AND?

Much ado about nothing.

Making a mountain out of a molehill.

Trying to make something from nothing.

What's "sensational" about it?

In the spy biz, they call that a canary trap.

I’m wondering why no return fire.

Why no arrests of leakers? Why no appointments of special counsel for leakergate? Or sharing classified material? Or IRS targeting? Or Clinton Foundation?

“I’m wondering why no return fire.”

I wondered the same thing through eight years of the George W. Bush administration.

I wondered the same thing through the 6 years of the Obama administration when the GOP Congress under speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan remained quiet under withering fire from Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama.

Perhaps one has to be a quiet, shy introvert to be a Republican politician.

The Post and Times are daily destroying what was left of their reputations as legitimate news publications. The American public looks on them with no more veracity than the National Enquirer.

Keep it up you leftist idiots. You are a laughing stock to all in flyover country.

If you are being surveilled every moment, and everything you say is being leaked to the press, you will look for another means of communication for anything really important.

In this case, we have a government that is riddled with obamists, Soros plants, Muslim Brotherhood, Saudi agents, all driving us toward war on the side of Al Qaeda and war against Russia. Trump is trying to reverse that formula, which make him the enemy of a good chunk of the bureaucratic state and the intel state. He can’t trust really anyone presently in office, and not many of the people he thinks he can trust, can he in fact trust.

To be sure his intent is clear, and to be sure he is hearing the other side’s intent clearly, he needs another informal means of communicating that side-steps the whole nest of snakes surrounding him. If it turns out the Russians are colluding with the Democrats to bring him down, he’ll figure that out quickly enough, but in the meantime he needs his message to go out unfiltered by his enemies.
