Prime Minister Theresa May was fighting to hold on to her job on Friday as British voters dealt her a punishing blow, denying her the stronger mandate she had sought to conduct Brexit talks and instead weakening her party's grip on power.
With no clear winner emerging from Thursday's parliamentary election, a wounded May signaled she would fight on, despite being on course to lose her majority in the House of Commons. Her Labour rival Jeremy Corbyn said she should step down.

Considering people rally around the leader in time of terror attacks and what a horrible leader Corbyn would be, the only explanation for May's disaster is a serious case of #Regrexit.
She sucked, and that was the bottom line.
They should have gone with Boris Johnson, who could very well now be the next PM. I expect May to stand down after this humiliation.
Boris Johnson weasled out, when many people were looking to him for a grab at the brass ring.
Boris could’ve had PM last time and he turned it down.
Apparently he dropped out when he learned he didn’t have the support he needed.
A little background on what happened.
I bet all the Tories will line up now and kiss Boris’ ring.
What is the outcome but weeks of negotiations to form a coalition government. If that is not accomplished, making milquetoast, then May resigns in the usual process.
Calls now for May to do so, and yet the Boris contingency is quiet to offer replacement. Conceivably the Labor Party boob can take the wheel and lead a coalition.
What a mess. Who are these people, the British?
That should have told Theresa May right there not to make this election about a “hard brexit”.

Charming.
315 now with 4 left so I think they keep the PM spot.
It’s eight in the morning there. Britain badly needs to modernize their election system.
So, other issues dominated the race and the Tories had no real plan for the future.
Except, May was campaigning on “hard brexit” while Corbyn did not.
In fact, May defined the election to be all about “hard brexit” and she would win solid support with the election result for it.
