President Trump on Friday accused James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, of lying under oath to Congress in testimony that the president dismissed as a politically motivated proceeding.
Mr. Trump also asserted that Mr. Comey’s comments on Thursday, in which the former F.B.I. director implied that the president fired him for pressing forward with the Russia investigation, had failed to prove any collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow nor any obstruction of justice.
“Yesterday showed no collusion, no obstruction,” Mr. Trump said in the White House Rose Garden, during a news conference with the visiting Romanian president. “That was an excuse by the Democrats, who lost an election they shouldn’t have lost,” he said. “It was just an excuse, but we were very, very happy, and frankly, James Comey confirmed a lot of what I said, and some of the things that he said just weren’t true.”

I suppose the NYT will next be publishing long think pieces from the giants of left-wing thought explaining how lying under oath is actually telling the truth, that the concept of “under oath” is unconstitutional under the Establishment Clause, and that lying to get Trump is what God wants.
That is because the bastard did lie under oath.
The idea that Trump would want to change the direction of an investigation that held him totally innocent of any collusion with Russia is simply absurd on its face.
Nice try, Comey. But you came up short with that one. Way short.

Former FBI Director James Comey may have lied under oath during his congressional hearing yesterday.
In the hearing, Comey explained that he had a friend reveal the contents of a memo (detailed notes of his private conversation with Trump) because of comments Trump posted to Twitter on May 12.
The problem is that the New York Times (the source to which Comey leaked his memo) published an article with information suspiciously accurate to his memo on May 11.

He absolutely lied and those are not the only two examples. He lied about his reasons for leaking part of his memo. He lied about his motivations for many many things.

One other thing. Trump likely has a recording system ready to go inside his office at Trump Tower. All trump had to do was push a button when Comey wanted the room cleared to be alone with him.
