Bush AG: Lynch ‘Betrayal’ Made DOJ ‘An Arm Of The Clinton Campaign’ (Mukasey)
Daily Caller ^ | June 9 2017 | Peter Hasson

Posted on 06/10/2017 11:25:20 AM PDT by Whenifhow

The former attorney general under George W. Bush said Loretta Lynch made the Department of Justice “an arm of the Clinton campaign” by instructing then-FBI Director James Comey to mislead the public about the Clinton email investigation.

“What makes it egregious is the fact — and I think it’s obvious that it is a fact — that the attorney general of the United States was adjusting the way the department talked about its business so as to coincide with the way the Clinton campaign talked about that business,” Michael Mukasey said in an interview with Newsmax on Friday.

“In other words, it made the Department of Justice essentially an arm of the Clinton campaign,” added Mukasey, who served as the attorney general from 2007 until 2009. “That is a betrayal of the department and of its independence to illustrate that clearly that the attorney general was essentially in the tank for Secretary Clinton.”

Comey testified on Thursday that Lynch successfully pressured him into using the Clinton campaign’s spin on the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state.

Lynch told Comey to call the investigation a “matter” rather than an “investigation,” Comey said. When he asked Lynch why, he said, she dodged the question, saying: “Just call it a matter.”

Comey emphasized that the order, “gave the impression that the attorney general [Lynch] was looking to align the way we talked about our work with the way the political campaign was describing the same activity, which was inaccurate.”

Comey said he complied with Lynch’s directive to use the “inaccurate” terminology because it “wasn’t a hill worth dying on.”

Even with the DOJ in her corner, Hillary couldn’t win.

And yet not a single article this morning is even suggesting criminal charges for Lynch. But at least a dozen, “mainstream” articles are absurdly proclaiming Trump can be impeached, or even more absurdly that Sessions should face charges.

The Trump DOJ should seek the indictment, trial, and conviction of the Obama DOJ on a cornucopia of charges, including giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

I think most educated people know this now. But the dumbed down ones still blame Trump.

No, but Trump "hoping", is.

Comey is a narcissist sociopath-- and utterly incapable of seeing the total illogic of what he was saying.

And yet he still didn’t see anything wrong with the failure to followup on Hillary’s email scandal, her pay-for-play incidents, or the IRS scandal, or Benghazi coverup, or Fast and Furious, or the DOJ funding radical liberal groups with money taken via shakedowns of banks, or Obama spying on reporters/Congress/Trump?

I seem to remember the media reporting this issue several months ago that Lynch wanted it called “a matter” rather than an investigation. We now learn this was communicated to Comey in a phone call from AG Lynch. How did the media know? Only one answer: Comey conplied and called it a matter and then leaked then leaked the conversation to cya and stay on the job rather than do the right thing, tell her “no”, it is an investigation and offer to resign. This creep has a history of doing this.

I think Comey is trying to keep out of jail. He is obviously dirty. He has committed crimes and perjury. Right now he is dancing on the edge of the razor blade. One miss step and bad things happen.

These are not normal times. There is a death struggle between constitutional law and The Deep State. One will win and the other will lose. Comey is trying to thread the needle between the two. Each side now despises him. The Deep State will back him so long as he is useful and turn on him when not. In fact the Deep State hated him when he excoriated Clinton but did not pursue her crimes. If he had done his job it would have led to indictments. He did do his job as a member of the Deep State. Clinton was not indicted. If Comey had of done less it would have showed the total corruption of the FBI. He did the minimum he could but still left Clinton as a viable candidate. Mr. Comey is a totally compromised man.

He is going down.

It's high time AG Sessions steps forward and issues some subpoenas and indictments re criminal activities by Democrats--even if the spineless RINO committees are afraid to spotlight the corrupt acts of the Obama-Clinton axis.

Let's at least attempt to change the lunatic media's obsession with this G-D Russian lunacy.

I had many debates with family and others at the time who insisted that Clinton was not under a criminal FBI investigation ... based on these choice of words.

They definitely convinced people that an FBI investigation of Clinton was not going on. A lot of people still believe that.

Liars. Including Comey. What a wimp.

For me, publicly attacking the corruption of the Swamp is the most important thing DJT can do. I can live without a tax cut, my health care plan is fine, but we lose the country if we can't drain the Swamp.
