Attorney General Jeff Sessions offered an indignant defense on Tuesday against what he called an appalling and detestable lie that he may have colluded with the Russian effort to interfere in the 2016 election, showcasing his loyalty to President Trump in an often contentious Senate hearing but declining to answer central questions about his or the presidents conduct.
Sounding by turns defiant and wounded, Mr. Sessions, a former senator from Alabama, often infused his testimony with more emotion than specifics. He insisted repeatedly that it would be inappropriate to discuss his private conversations with the president, however relevant they might be, visibly frustrating senators who have been conducting their own inquiry into Russias election meddling.

Many of them should be questioned about THEIR behavior by Sessions.
He recused himself from the investigation. That means he wasn’t part of it. But they keep asking about details of the investigation.
Not even the Slimes can figure out how to spin this in support of their nutty conspiracy theory. Good job, AG Sessions.
Sessions was careful to point out the Comey got the reclusial memo.
He was magnificent
You mean His Comeyness was wrong about something?
I watched most of it, and I’m very proud of Sessions. He’s a gentleman, but definitely not a pushover. His bearing, intellect, principles made a lot of them look like fools - and they deserved it.
Best Sessions response would have been:
“Look, I know political grandstanding b***s*** when I see it. I sat in your chair for 20 years and watched you do this all the time. This is pure political grandstanding b***s***.”
Is the wine any good?
Jeff was just telling the truth.
Why does GOP Senator Burr, the committee chairman, continue to pretend this is a non partisan investigation? In his introduction he praises his Democrat Vice Chairman Mark Warner. Then Warner comes on and three sentences into his remarks the knives are out and he’s on the attack.
Republicans need to stop the charade and go for blood.
Seems to me the Slimes is as demented as always:
“Sounding by turns defiant and wounded, Mr. Sessions, a former senator from Alabama, often infused his testimony with more emotion than specifics.”
Later on they said this, “But in March, Mr. Sessions was forced to acknowledge meeting Ambassador Kislyak on two occasions.” They neglect to mention that those 2 occasions were as his duties as a Senator on a specific committee. Many other senators, both Democrat and Republican, met with Russians the same as he did. This is another exhibit as to why the NYT is Fake News. They cannot be trusted to tell the truth. They muddy the waters on purpose.
The NYT as well as other MSM outlets think we’re all so stupid. Not so.
LOL! A number here were worried that Sessions is a woos - when he limits the NYT to having to use the lame “fends off” phrase in their headline, he proves himself capable.
