Very Fake News: New York Times Revives ‘Blood Libel’ Against Sarah Palin
Breitbart ^ | 14 Jun 2017 | Joel B. Pollak

Posted on 06/15/2017 6:40:41 AM PDT by KC_Lion

The New York Times published an editorial Wednesday evening about the attack on Republicans earlier that day in which it claimed falsely that Sarah Palin incited the 2011 Tucson shooting, and that the killer had political motives.

.....

At the time, Palin called the false accusations against her a “blood libel,” and for good reason: it was a slander imputing responsibility to her for the deaths of innocents, with the sole purpose of punishing her for her beliefs.

The Times goes on to argue that “there’s no sign of incitement as direct as in the Giffords attack” in Wednesday’s shooting.

That statement is so completely false that it calls to mind George Orwell’s observation about journalism during the Spanish Civil War: “I saw newspaper reports which did not bear any relation to the facts, not even the relationship which is implied in an ordinary lie.”

Sarah linked to this article on Facebook saying:

"With this sickening NYT's editorial, the media is doing exactly what I said yesterday should not be done. Despite commenting as graciously as I could on media coverage of yesterday's shooting, alas, today a perversely biased media's knee-jerk blame game is attempting to destroy innocent people with lies and more fake news. As I said yesterday, I'd hoped the media had collectively matured since the last attack on a Representative when media coverage spewed blatant lies about who was to blame. There's been no improvement. The NYT has gotten worse. - SP"

Very Fake News

Michelle Malkin also points on Facebook:

NYT blames Palin's 2010 map for Loughner's fixation w/Giffords that began in *2007.*

“I saw newspaper reports which did not bear any relation to the facts, not even the relationship which is implied in an ordinary lie.”

That is a great description of what the media is all about today.

Ping to Sarah's List.

Well, literally 12 hours after I posted the last thread on this.

The MSN goes and trods this crap out.

As FReepers Extremely Extreme Extremist and agere_contra said that not only were those surveyor points but "The ‘Gabby Giffords’ shooting. Six people died in that attack, and Giffords wasn’t one of them. For instance: John Roll, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for Arizona. But the Dems made it all about themselves."

She should sue them- how can they prove the absence of malice after printing this again?

There was no political motivation for Tuscon, yet yesterday the shooter was a Trump hater and Bernie Sanders fan!

“I saw newspaper reports which did not bear any relation to the facts, not even the relationship which is implied in an ordinary lie.”......................................... LOL, even worse, the great NYT coverage of the Ukraine starvation and the glorification of Stalin’s 5 yr plan. The so called Intellectual Bolshevik News is more like it. Again this “editorial” is an opinion, not news.

I strongly recommend reading Orwell’s autobiographical Homage to Catalonia about his time fighting in the Spanish Civil War. He bare escaped with his life at the hands of his “allies”, the Communists. This experience was seminal to his later writing of Animal Farm and 1984.

It’s a fairly quick read.

What cracks me up about the phrase “Fake news” is that the left first used it, and really they were projecting.

But because they were projecting, the right was able to throw it right back at them and with significantly more power. Eventually some of them actually demanded that the phrase stopped being used.

People who live in glass houses...

And the simple fact is that, yes, it most definitely applies to the “progressive” news sources.

Can she sue NYT in an Alaskan court? It is a slam dunk case, but I am sure she wouldn’t get a fair hearing in NYC.

It’s a shame that the Times has to do what it can to defend it’s hate and rhetoric that caused James to go on a shooting spree. And it brings this up? If anything it’s time to sue the times out of existence

Yes, and the shooter listed the Communist Manifesto as one of his favorite books.

I posted, yesterday, how quick the left was to regurgitate their BS rhetoric on Sarah and Gabby G.

It’s as if they all received their $orass distributed talking points, right on cue.

They’re so blatantly obvious.
