BARINAS, Venezuela, June 15 (Reuters) - He had just left his office by car and was passing a nearby church when the state security vans swooped in on Wilmer Azuaje.

Put on a military plane hours later on May 3, the 40-year-old regional lawmaker - one of the best-known opposition figures in the rural home state of former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez - has not been seen since.

A favorite method of dictatorships is to 'disappear' opposition members, the more notorious, the better. This spreads FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) amongst the followers. Anyone who thinks that Socialist Venezuela is not a full-blown dictatorship is drinking the koolaid.

Seldom heard from now are the Hollywood LEFT who vocally supported Venezuela's headlong dive into 'Socialismo' under Hugo Chavez and his successor, Nicolas Maduro. While these luminaries; Sean Penn, Harry Belafonte, Jamie Foxx, Danny Glover, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, Oliver Stone, and Naomi Campbell were happy to lend their voices, the current situation seems to have cast a cone of silence upon them now. Also missing are any comments from the political LEFT like Joseph P. Kennedy II & Rep. Gregory Meeks, noted supports in the recent past.

The situation now in Venezuela is that the Maduro Government has all of the political power, military and guns firmly in their control. Maduro has the support of China and Cuba but that is about all in terms of foreign support. There is MASSIVE INFLATION to where the Government no longer releases official statistics but the emasculated opposition-controlled Venezuelan Congress states that the rate was 18.26 in May 2017 ALONE! In that same month the Central Bank (Government) devalued the Venezuelan Bolivar from 721 per U$D to 2010 / U$D. However the black market valuation of the US Dollar is 3 times the new rate at 6,000 Bolivars.

Had Hillary won the election we might well be seeing this sort of thing right here. We’re still not out of the woods though, there are plenty of politicians who campaign on conservative promises but once elected, revert to liberal actions. Unless we’re very careful we could still see ‘disappearances’ here. Hell, we already see murders that never get investigated.

BTW, how many notice that Lee Harvey Oswald never made it to trial... nor did this dude that shot Scalise. That seems to be a fairly common outcome for assassins. I wonder why??
