Dershowitz said the same thing. And EVERYONE else has said the same thing.
The reasons he gave for "no obstruction" were different from Dershowitz.
Dersh says that even if the facts amount to obstruction, closing an investigation is a presidential power, and no indictment could be brought. The SC could report that a reasonable prosecutor COULD indict, and leave the rest to Congress.
Starr says the facts don't add up to obstruction. In so many words, he also opined that Comey was wrong to interpret Trump's words as an order.
[Trump's] saying, "Golly, I sure wish this would go away. It's in the way of my agenda. I need to run the country and this is a terrible distraction. I hope you can see your way clear." That, to me, just the language, is far removed from a directive.
Starr did a good job of defending Sessions on the "stonewalling" accusation made by some in the Senate and by the press, when Sessions would not answer about conversations he had directly with President Trump.
Remember, the above, for the most part, are sane, rational folks. Assuming that the CNN crew is the same is a dangerous stretch.
They are still thinking the only way Trump beat Hillary on her home court is by major cheating. Anybody that can cheat better than the dims is definitely capable of most anything and not to be tolerated.
I can’t believe we’re going to have to endure at least 4 years of this!
Al Gore told me this.
I suspect this is Comey and Mueller or Comey leaking a false story in the hopes of getting Trump to fire Mule head. Mule head has nothing on Trump and knows it. The Russia crap is dead. He’s fishing.
Doesn’t matter to the Left. Keep the narrative going. It keeps Trump on defense.
And Dershowitz’s opinion on matters of law (not politics) is far more important to me than Starr, the man who prosecuted WJC over a sexual matter instead of Whitewater, sale of secret tech to the Chinese (etc). That prosecution made a mockery of the idea that conservatives are committed to principle, especially in light of all the folks in R leadership whose sexual misdeeds were later unmasked.
