And apparently revised down a little from 4.5 magnitude.

There was a 4.8 in Yellowstone a few years ago. Yellowstone had a 7+ in 1959. Development since might make one that big now much worse.

You would be if you understood plate tectonics. Southern California's plate is like the crust of a nice apple pie. Thump it and a 4.5 displacement doesn't travel far. Yellowstone however is more like the surface of an iron bell. Thump it and a displacement travels pretty far. It's all relative to the plate.

It takes California's plate a much larger "thump" for you all to get excited. But don't yawn over a 4.5 in Yellowstone. Nor on the East coast. Their plate is similar. That's why the 2011 5.8 in Virginia was such a big deal. And why the 5.0 in Ontario was felt all the way down in Baltimore MD.
