Tim Cook, Eric Schmidt, Jeff Bezos Praise Trump Admin After White House Tech Meeting

Some of the top CEO’s of technology companies in America met with Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, praising him for hosting an afternoon summit on important tech issues.

“I’m absolutely convinced that during your administration there is going to be a huge explosion of new opportunities because of the platforms that are getting built in our industry,” Schmidt said to Trump after the meeting, as over a dozen CEOs went around the table to make comments after the meeting.

Schmidt said that the combination of entrepreneurs, skilled workers, and immigration would provide “huge” growth in the American economy.

“It’s going to happen soon during your leadership,” he predicted.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said he was pleased that Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and his daughter Ivanka Trump were bringing technology companies together in the Trump administration to help streamline government.

“The U.S. should have the most modern government in the world, and today it doesn’t,” he said, predicting that the tech innovations made in the Trump administration would pay back immensely in the future.

Cook also offered advice to Trump, suggesting that the federal government needs to be more focused on the people, which was not how it currently operated.

“The government should be focused on its citizens, and the services of the government should be measured on how pleased the citizens are with receiving its services,” he said.

Cook also told Trump that computer coding should be “a requirement” for public schools.

“We have a huge deficit in the skills that we need today, vs. the skills that are there,” he said.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also praised Trump’s administration for forming the tech innovation council, telling Trump that his team could be the “innovation administration.”

Wow, I have to say I never expected these huge libs, supporters of Hillary, to be publicly complimentary of President Trump and his team. I thought they’d keep any public remarks pretty generic and focused on their industry rather than upon the administration. Trump and Jared and the cabinet officials must have really wowed them.

Mr. Bezos might want to tell his people at the Washington Post to lighten up on the Trump attacks, especially after the Scalise shootings.

WE DON’T NEED MORE PEOPLE FOR GROWTH, IDIOT. You slobbering billionaires need to keep your tech production in the US instead of exploding 3rd world cheap labor, since you guys “care” so much being liberal and all.

“Cook also told Trump that computer coding should be “a requirement” for public schools.”

Interesting. I’m not sure if the typewriting class was a requirement - but my mom sure made me take it. Boy am I glad she did. We made our kids do it as well. (Except now of course it is keyboarding).

I could perhaps see something that would make kids all more computer literate. I used to be able to make edits in simple software years ago when it would go buggy - but I wouldn’t have a clue now. It changes so fast.

But maybe it is helpful to know coding even if the language does change?? I recall a college professor telling us that it is important to know some of the concepts of coding, but that we would hopefully be coming up with the “Big Ideas” - and then could hire some kid to do the actual coding.

After college I worked for a small firm and we did just that - the kid was 15 years old and would ride his bike to our office to help us with software. He already had developed software for small airports to run their billing, scheduling, expenses, etc.

(This was in the mid 1980’s - he was also a pilot in training!) I might need to connect with my old boss and see if he can remember the kid’s name - I’m sure he went places!

Why should these guys ever have doubted a fellow wealthy businessman? True, he’s not corrupt like Pickles Clinton, and she could have cut all kinds of shady deals for them, I guess...but they HAD to appreciate sitting there with a knowledgeable PEER getting real work done.

I’m optimistic.

My mom rather strongly suggested I take a typing course in summer school. It was a five or six week course at the local privately owned business college (2 year). The following spring,I took a one semester typing course in the 9th grade.
I got a grade of A! I learned life long skills from those courses.

I also tried a course in penmanship at the local business college but to no avail. My handwriting just never improved.
I am a lefty.

I think Tim Cook’s suggestion on teaching coding in high schools is spot on. At least the concepts.

"Cook also told Trump that computer coding should be “a requirement” for public schools."

This was tried in the 80s and ended rather quickly when it was clear the total number of graduates from any high school/college would only amount to the number of future computer scientists (>1%).

Albeit this does rival some inner-city districts in total graduation rate, overall, Cook's desire to have students chained to whatever current iteration of Objective-C+++++ is referentially symptomatic of his overall disease ie he's a gay Leftist.
