If Dems were smart, they’d watch and learn from the opening segment of today’s Morning Joe.
In his item of last night, Prof. Jacobson noted how Dems were taking the wrong lesson from the election, claiming that a close loss was a win. The message from Morning Joe was starkly different.
As Mark Halperin put it this morning, this was an “unmitigated disaster” for the Dems.
Joe Scarborough said that “all the chips were pushed to the middle of the table here. This was a winner take all and it was a huge win for Republicans and a big loss for Democrats.”

And yet Morning Joe’s panelists keep banging the same drum that caused the loss — Trump obstructed justice, Trump should be impeached, Trump is evil, blah blah blah. DC pundits might finally be realizing that no one gives a s___t about the inside the beltway kabuki theater that has been going on in Washington for the past 5 months.
For Dems this election was only about securing a vote for impeachment. So in that regard it was an epic fail.

Well, the Dems are an unmitigated disaster for the USA, so it works out.
Why did the Dems think they could win it? Guy did not live in the district and it had never been held by a Dem like forever. Those two points alone should have sobered their assessments. Are they simply blinded by their own anti-Trump and anti-Republican hate and anger that they are now tilting at every windmill? Their media partners seem in the tank that everyone will vote for them, which gives them their own cheering squad, but seriously, did anyone really think this Weiner-boy wanna be had a chance?
I don’t look at this as a defeat for Democrat voters.
I look at it as an opportunity.
Now is the time for them to leave the Democrat tribe.
