I am a lifelong firearm enthusiast. I started shooting at 10 years old when my father got me a Crossman pump action air rifle with a four power Tasco scope. He was one of only three NRA training counselors in the state of Wisconsin for many years. I began shooting competitively through 4-H not long after, eventually shooting air rifle, air pistol, and shotgun trap through the program. After 4-H, I went on to shoot small-bore rifle in local competitions. Today, I own four firearms of various kinds, make time to shoot several thousand rounds per year, and am licensed through the state to carry a concealed weapon, which I do routinely in the form of .40 S&W Glock. Based on this background, what I have to say next may surprise many o

Haven't gun grabbers claimed that there is no reason for any civilian to have thousands of rounds? (yes I know live rounds are fired at practice ranges)
in before the “i lost all my firearms in a boating accident”
His argument is really, really, lame.
Essentially, it is:
I do not see any benefit from this. Therefore, we should ban it.
Even though there have not been any problems, I think there well be problems, because I am an elitist.
So my imagination trumps your existential facts.
It is not a persuasive argument.
“well be” should be “will be”.
Six “I”s in that short paragraph.
Must come from the Baraq Obama school of journo-egoism.

In all cases... a lie.
Constitutioinal Carry is called that because it is simply complying with the terms of the Constitution to a greater extent than various licensing schemes. What Mr. T is advocating is to continue to ignore the Constitution. The RKBA is still being violated so long as there are classes of non-incarcerated people (I did not say “citizens”) and weapons deemed to be exempt from the stricture of the 2Amd.
Nor are hard facts, apparently. A huge number of states changed their laws from "may issue" to "shall issue" CCW, and gun ownership and civilian carry have increased greatly. Gun crime did not increase.
I haven't yet seen any similar studies for "Constitutional Carry", but surely enough states have made such changes and have a long enough timeline to yield at least indicative data. I expect a similar outcome.
I wrote the following directly to Tomlinson.
Sir,(Pat Tomlinson) respectfully, I disagree and suggest your article misses the central point entirely of Constitutional Carry, to wit:
...Many times each day in current day US, law abiding citizens find themselves in life threatening situations involving violent, desperate, murderous attackers. Often, “minutes” don’t matter at all. Even “seconds” turn into hours that get dissected by do gooders and anti-gunners in the months that follow.
The “central, irrefutable point” is that those that have a gun on their hip or close by have a chance of achieving a favorable outcome for themselves and perhaps their loved ones. Those that don’t, in many cases......................DON’T, they just die because they worried themselves over “the state” giving them “permission” to defend themselves.
Whether or not the man or woman has a piece of paper in his pocket, called a “license” by the State, is COMPLETEY irrelevant in split second situations where the man or woman is fighting for his or her life.

And another “Fudd” checks in to claim some form of moral superiority while confirming a total lack of understanding the simple word “infringe.”
Someone should explain to this moron that a "license" is when the state takes a right from you and rents it back.
