Crews searching through the rubble left by a landslide that buried a mountain village under tons of soil and rocks in south-western China have found 15 bodies, but about 100 more people remain missing.
Xinhua, the official news agency, reported that about 1,000 rescuers were using detection devices and dogs to look for signs of life in an area that once held 62 homes and a hotel.
"We won't give up as long as there is a slim chance," the agency quoted an unidentified searcher as saying.

Before there was instant communication and modern travel you wonder how many times small villages around the world were simply wiped off the map with no one ever knowing about it.
Cars and people line a road to Xinmo in this photo taken at a distance. You can see the entire village has been buried by rocks.

Holy cow, that’s huge...and not very promising for rescuers. Those boulders are massive.
Looks like they were hit by a tsunami of boulders. Brutal.
