BOSTON (CBS) TSA agents have found a number of strange things in luggage over the years, but their latest unusual discovery is uniquely New England.
A spokesman shared a photo Monday of a lobster weighing more than 20 pounds. The crustacean was detected in a checked bag in Terminal C (JetBlue) on Sunday morning.
Lobsters can travel in either carry-on or checked bags. Theyre a common sight at New England airports, but this one was notable because of how large it is.
The TSA tells WBZ-TV that the lobster was traveling in a cooler and was alive and well.
“Our garbage truck ran over a Snapping Turtle that was HUGE. Based on size (and some googling) we estimated that the turtle mustve been 50 years old!”
Back about 1974, I was riding with my granny in her 1973 Ford Pinto on a central Texas dirt road. She rounded a corner and we ran over a huge snapping turtle. Almost high centered the Pinto. It was a wild ride. We stopped, got out and looked at the monster. The shell was split but he was headed for the ditch. Exciting times for a ten year old!!
Remove the meat while it’s still raw and cut it into bite-sized portions, heat up a large container of butter, then place the lobster meat in the butter to cook and soak up the goodness at the same time.
Exactly my thought.
And this year that turtle reached 100 years old, LOL! :)
Is that a lobster in your pants or are you...
Put that in your pants and you’re liable to get a “radical circumcision.”
"I hate $@#%$%*# crustaceans on a plane..."
He have to pay for a seat in first class or did they table the decision ?
Wouldn’t have been worth much if they could pack no more than 4 oz. of butter.

“How can you cook a lobster that big and cook the meat evenly?”
Gotta get it just the right distance from the engines in the jet wash.

“They had a lobster boil last night.
I had fried baloney. Sad....”
Yup, I’m not much of a seafood fan either. Let them get their own bologna.
There’s more than one way to cook lobster than boil/steam it.
Trump needs to terminate this Keystone-Cop fiasco and return airline security to the airlines. What other industry gets a taxpayer-funded "security team" 24/365?
Used to spend weekends camping on islands in the upper keys and only had enough money for food or beer.
We’d end up eating coconuts along with lobsters boiled in sea water the whole time.
Butter overwhelms the perfect flavor of a good lobster.
Perfect size is 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 lb. Cooked correctly, it’s moist and sweet and you can break it apart with your bare hands.
I ate two of them on Sunday for lunch!
Was the lobster confiscated by TSA?
No, they see them there all the time, but not this yuge!...............
I wonder where they’ll get a pot big enough!................
He was in carrion luggage...............
