Wait a minute. The paper is laying off 100 editors but they turn around and say they plan on offsetting that by recruiting top talent. So, why, exactly, would a true “top talent” want to work at a place that just laid people off??
Are they unable to process the logical disconnect here?
Top Talent will work out of a Pakistani call center.
All of them will be named “Bob.”
Sprint does this all the time. Lay people off, hire them again in three weeks. It’s effed up.
It is a house cleaning.
And the new people will work for less.
