Wait a minute. The paper is laying off 100 editors but they turn around and say they plan on offsetting that by recruiting top talent. So, why, exactly, would a true “top talent” want to work at a place that just laid people off??

Are they unable to process the logical disconnect here?

Sprint does this all the time. Lay people off, hire them again in three weeks. It’s effed up.
