Turkey Takes Over 50 Churches, Monasteries

Close to 50 churches and monasteries were taken over by the Turkish government in Mardin, a city located in the southeastern part of the country, reported the news outlet Agos.

The move was made during the time that the villages that comprise the city were turned into an official municipality. As per legislation that established the city, a “liquidation committee” was established to distribute institutions of the city whose legal permits had expired.

“For years, minority foundations could not acquire property in Turkey,” explained Kuryakos Ergun, the chairman of Mor Gabriel Monastery Foundation. “Then legislative amendments were introduced in 2002 upon which we engaged in a number of initiatives.” We were able to have some of the title deeds registered in the name of our foundation. And for others, the legal process was ongoing.

Very well respected source. It is an except.

Previously noted that Mardin was on of the sites of the Armenian and Assyrian Genocides. Along with Greek and Alevi.

This is the direct that Erdogan the Islamist takes his nation. Concequences? Genocide, War, misery.

Orthodox Ping!

Save Thy people, O Lord,
and bless Thine inheritance.
Grant victory to Thy Church over her enemies,
and protect Thy people by Thy Holy Cross!

(For the Feast of Sts Peter and Paul, June 29)

O foremost in the ranks of Apostles,
and teachers of the world, Peter and Paul,
intercede with the Master of all
to grant peace unto the world,
and to our souls the Great Mercy.

Erdog is evil.

I was at Incirlik Air Base in 1982. I thought the country totally sucked, way back then. I couldn't see how we could be allies with those scoundrels. I still don't.

NATO is a defensive card. Not an offense card.

We are not obligated to join a military situation if NATO partner starts a war. Only if the are defending against war or aggression.

Turkey is no longer a Democracy. It is a Islamo Fascist dictatorship with ambitions to restore the Ottoman Empire. (Neo Ottoman)

This is far worse than in 1982, Erdogan the Islamist is now Dictator of Turkey.

The outcome of this has been seen before.

Now the mask of secularism is removed from the Government of Turkey. Not since WWI have the Kemalist been out of power. The Kemalist were/are despots. The Islamists are worse. The Kemalist pretended to be secular, but in reality were not. Erdogan does not even pretend to be secularist. It is time for Christians and others to be aware of what is coming. (I have a close family friend who’s niece and her husband are missionaries there. I’m very worried for them.)

I am sure it is much worse now. I have long since passed the time of having even a modicum of patience and understanding for the muzzie religion, or muzzie countries, including Turkey. 👎👎👎👎

Makes sense.

He wants to remove all buildings associated with Armenian/Assyrian/Alevi/Greek Genocide.

He take churches makes them Mosques and public urinals. (I don’t exaggerate)
