Rand Paul on Health Care Bill: ‘I Still Sense We’re at Impasse’ — Suggests Dividing Bill in Two
Breitbart.com ^ | 29 Jun 2017 | Jeff Poor

Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he and his GOP colleagues in the Senate were still at “impasse” on the legislation being considered to repeal and replace Obamacare.

“I still sense we’re at impasse,” Paul said. “And I said yesterday at lunch with our Republican caucus and everybody kind of laughed because there is still quite a bit of disagreement. There’s basically two factions. There’s conservatives like myself who don’t want new federal programs, we want to repeal Obamacare. And then there’s some of the moderates who kind of want to keep some of Obamacare and they’re not to opposed to new federal government programs.”

Paul said one proposal he offered was to divide the bill into two, one of which would pass with the Republican majority and another on a spending bill, which could earn Democrat votes.

“So what I’ve come up with and I talked to the president yesterday about this is what about dividing the bill in two?” Paul added. “Do the repeal, which no Democrat will vote for. Repeal the taxes, repeal the regulations, and do a fix to Medicaid that helps to pay for everything. No Democrats will vote for anything good like that. But Democrats will always vote for spending. So the big government Republicans that want more spending, take the spending and put it in the bill that Democrats will vote for.”

on the legislation being considered to repeal and replace Obamacare.

They must be talking about legislation yet to be revealed/introduced. All I keep seeing is RINOcare.

Wel: duh!

First you have a clean repeal.

Then you address anything else.

Requiring a replacement to be part of a “repeal” is a great way to make sure nothing happens at all.

Are they still talking about this?

Its amazing what BS politicians will say in an elections season, more amazing is that people believe them.

“Requiring a replacement to be part of a “repeal” is a great way to make sure nothing happens at all.”

You’d think by now they would realize this all too well.

On the other hand maybe they do realize it and simply want 0care to fail in full public view (so they can say ‘well, we tried!).

There is probably a point at which the GOP can maximize the democRATs’ culpability as the scapegoats for Obamacare and minimize their own culpability for doing nothing to fix it. I’m not sure when that is, but I hope they realize that.

I suggested this on FR a couple of days ago, but Rand Paul is still my hero for advocating it. Repeal the silly thing - cleanly. Then replace it perhaps even with some democrat support, but not with a monstrosity just with a bill that covers the minimum to kill the issue for a generation.

I believe President Trump should Call their Bluff and Force the Issue.

When and ONLY WHEN Government Lives under the Same Laws as us will anything substantial happen

OBAMACARE Can be Saved!!

There are about 22 MILLION Public Employee’s Nationwide that are Ineligible for Subsidies, this infusion of New Paying Customers will SAVE OBAMACARE. the SEIU and every other Public Employee UNION fully Endorse Obamacare and have held numerous rallies in support thereof.

Let’s Give them what they want!

I believe our Public Employees deserve the Best Health Care America has to offer, and that is the Official Government Health Care Plan, Obamacare. So why don’t you quit pussyfooting around and Proudly Proclaim your desire to see that ALL Federal Employees receive the Finest, Most Affordable Health Care the US has to offer, OBAMACARE.

All the Money currently wasted on these inferior high priced cadillac plans can be diverted to the Wall.

There is ONLY ONE WAY to make it happen:

Executive Orders or Legislation, the chance of CONgress doing it are the same as OJ Confessing, so I am choosing Executive Orders.

1. All waivers to the Affordable Care act are hereby repealed.

2. There shall be NO funds drawn from the treasury to pay for Health Insurance for ANY Federal Employee except Members of the Armed Services.

3. ALL Federal Employees except members of the US Armed Services, SHALL purchase their own personal and Family Health Insurance from the Affordable Care Exchange in the state they legally reside.

4. There shall be NO Medicaid Reimbursement funds allocated to any State that does not have 100% of their Public Employees enrolled in the Affordable Care Act.

And to make sure it is Bipartisan, President Trump should VETO it every Time and FORCE them to Override his Veto to Repeal this Monstrosity.

Sign these 4 orders and it will be FULLY REPEALED in Less than 30 days.

NOT UNTIL, Anyone want to make a BET???

When and ONLY WHEN Government Lives under the Same Laws as us will anything substantial happen

There will never be enough votes for a clean repeal.

Obama and company have left behind a poison pill that America’s already swallowed and the antidote is being refused by the patient.

The Republicans have a history of making things too complicated to do so they can say they tried come election time and not face the consequences for either reneging on their word or going along with Democrats.
