Teenager Cathy Rainbolt told a judge her foster father hit her in the face when she failed to mow the lawn correctly. She got hit in the face when she argued. She got hit and dragged by the hair when she tried to get away.
Her foster father was James "Tom" Hodgkinson, who is now infamous after shooting U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, two police officers and a staffer on a Virginia ballfield Wednesday. Rainbolt told the judge that Hodgkinson drank every day.
"I didn't mark a time when (Hodgkinson) started hitting me," Rainbolt told St. Clair County Circuit Judge James Radcliffe during a hearing Nov. 21, 2006. "It's been hard to live with (an alcoholic) and how (he) treated me," Rainbolt said.

The Hodgkinsons’ other foster daughter, Wanda “Ashley” Stock, killed herself in 1996 at the age of 17 by dousing herself with gasoline and setting herself on fire inside her car.

When I was sixteen and seventeen that option was looking very attractive. Then as soon as I turned eighteen I started heading for the door and five months later I was out of the house forever. Life got better after that.
But when you’re in the moment it can be almost impossible to imagine a future without the pain even if that future is really just a few months away.
In any case, I’m glad that Ashley’s disgusting stepfather is dead. He did the world a favor by leaving it.
I’d bet an arm that this creep could, and did, rattle off every coarse thing Trump ever said about women, and the name and soshecurity number of every woman who ever accused Trump of anything, no matter how trivial. I’d bet another arm that he “won” every political argument he was ever in, by yelling and punching. His face is absolutely devoid of the tiniest spark of intellect.

I had read one article and was aware of the information in the other.
Neither of these articles contained the information that was in the article I posted.
The article detailed what his adopted daughter had told a judge about Hodgkinson. It contained direct quotes saying he often punched her in the face for no reason.
Though it did not explicitly say it, her testimony also implied that Hodgkinson sexually abused his adopted daughter.
Guess you overlooked the part that said I must have read it elsewhere....
