One By One, States Are Blocking Pence’s Voter Suppression Scheme [from Leftist site]

One By One, States Are Blocking Pence’s Voter Suppression Scheme

State officials from Virginia, California and Kentucky are refusing to give over voter information to Vice President Pence’s commission on election integrity.

President Trump signed an executive order last May creating the commission, saying that it will “promote fair and honest federal elections” after claiming that millions of undocumented immigrants had somehow managed to vote illegally for Hillary Clinton. No evidence for this claim has ever been offered.

The commission, led by Pence, sent letters today requesting all 50 states to supply voters’ names, birthdays, the last four digits of their Social Security numbers, and their voting history since 2006.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) said in a statement that he has “no intention” of complying with this request, saying the commission was based on the “false notion” that widespread voter fraud occurred in the 2016 election.

“At best this commission was set up as a pretext to validate Donald Trump’s alternative election facts, and at worst is a tool to commit large-scale voter suppression,” McAuliffe stated.

California Secretary of State Alex Padilla (D) also said “I will not provide sensitive voter information to a commission that has already inaccurately passed judgment that millions of Californians voted illegally… California’s participation would only serve to legitimize the false and already debunked claims of massive voter fraud made by the President, Vice President, and [Kansas Secretary of State Kris] Kobach.”

Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) also had harsh words for the commission.

“The president created his election commission based on the false notion that “voter fraud” is a widespread issue – it is not,” Grimes said in a statement. “Indeed, despite bipartisan objections and a lack of authority, the President has repeatedly spread the lie that three to five million illegal votes were cast in the last election. Kentucky will not aid a commission that is at best a waste of taxpayer money and at worst an attempt to legitimize voter suppression efforts across the country.”

Pretty easy solution at least for FEDERAL elections. Just make it a federal offense to commit fraud in federal elections. Minimum manadatory 4 year sentencing with multiple counts to be served consecutively for every elective office fraudulently voted for. So if you vote president, vp, both senators and House of Representatives you’ll get 20 years to be served minimum mandatory and those organizing will get the same for every vote cast in federal elections..... could end up with tens of thousands of years.

>>ask for the same data to compare and identify illegal aliens voting and people voting more than one location. Time to get some integrity in our elections.

I feel fairly confident that Trump’s people have a reasonably good handle on how many of both groups voted in the last election. Modern data analytics are quite powerful, and this should have been quite do-able as a side project from the database amassed for the main issue of getting Trump elected.

This commission is just out there to formalize bringing this to a head and hammering the Dems with reality.

Empty suit Mike Pence should grow a spine and confront these people and accuse them of condoning voter fraud.

I agree .
Pence needs to drop the Uniparty Veneer and be frickin Man and send in the DOJ to investigate these Public records and make them a example and then fine them or worse. These are federal public records .

“Shut off fed money”

Exactly... Call it a ‘funded mandate’ and withdraw funding for their transportation departments. That’s a no brainer. Why are we even hesitating on these things. The left has been pushing their policies into the states with that method for decades. Now they’ve suddenly discovered that states have rights?!

>Fiscal, schmiscal. Decertify electors from those states in national elections till they comply. Then the good guys don’t have to give a rat’s ass if they ever comply or not.

What would congress look like if even a 3ed of the blue states had their federal elections decertified for refusing to comply? CA alone has 53. We might end up with a 2/3 majority in congress.

One by one. Yeah, they're all the way up to three. Only 54 more to go.

Already two great suggestions on the thread: discontinue Fed money to these states and/or don’t count any of their votes. If NY joins the crowd, I’m lovin’ the latter!

Not a problem. Document it and when you are handing out federal dollars for voting programs see the money goes to other States!

A master list of voters in all states, compiled so that the Federal government, the most corrupt and dangerous entity on the face of the Earth, can detect and prevent “fraud.”

uh-huh...

He can.

In fact, there are multiple ways to obtain the information, it just requires more work on Pence’s part. One of the easier ways is to request it through the Republican Party in each state, as they should have all of that information.

This is a filthy Marxist rag.

Voter suppression to them means that illegals can’t vote and Marxists can’t vote 2-3 times or more as they are bussed around to various precincts.

Pence is doing a good job. It makes sense to start with the low-hanging fruit. He’ll certainly get Texas to comply, as our SOS is a Republican (and there’s no shortage of fraud here too), and probably 30 or so other states. That gives his people something to start with - get the bugs out of their systems. It also removes the excuse of states that they were blind-signed by the jack-booted feds, as they had a chance to comply peacefully.

For the states that hold out, you then to ratchet things up. For example, I don’t know how Kentucky is set up, but the governor there is a serious conservative - he may be able to step on the SOS, Ms. Grime, and order the release. Perhaps that brings in a few more states.

Then they can start using back doors - the Republican Party in each state, being a political entity, has the right to that data, and so there’s a good chance they already have it - so they can turn it over, or they can obtain it. The data may not be ‘official’ but it is enough to work with and find probable cause with. At that point, more specific warrants can be obtained, if necessary.

Pence is doing fine - he’s putting together a national listing...and will be able to extensively cross-check. He doesn’t need to find 3 Million cases (or evidence that extrapolates to 3 million). The Democrat line is that fraud doesn’t exist. A while ago I talked with my (liberal) mother on this, and she said there was no way it was 3 million. I agreed with her (she’s my mom, after all), so we ended up ‘compromising’ at 500,000 to 1,000,000 illegal votes. Even that lower number flips huge numbers of elections and completely blows out the Democrat argument, and makes the case for national voter registration.

The important thing is that Pence is working on it now, and I’m sure a lot of FReepers, me included, would love to be a part of that!

WHY are you posting from a leftwing hack site called “Resistance Report” anyway?

Should we only post from sites that preach to the choir?

Maybe it’s not solvable issue given the current. What does federal government really do if states refuse?
