That is an interesting perspective. An entire I know told me that black patients in her hospital sometimes requested white nurses. I was puzzled and asked why? She said they thought the black or other nurses were given breaks to get into and pass nursing school and were inferior nurses.
I thought this very sad and a good example of the evils of affirmative action. If we just made discrimination illegal all nurses would be assumed equally competent.
If I were an African American nurse or doctor this would really rankle me
It would with me as well. I’m a female engineer, and I always felt like I had to show my graduating GPA (3.85) to show I was capable. The discrimination is certainly unfair against those discriminated against but also everyone that got in on their own merits.
An RN told me! Not an “entire!”
So they get to goof off even more.
