A doctor who apparently harbored a longstanding grudge opened fire with an assault rifle at the New York City hospital where he used to work Friday, killing one and injuring several others before taking his own life, according to police sources.
In the wake of what New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called a "horrific" instance of what appeared to be workplace violence just before 3 p.m., the suspect, Dr. Henry Bello, who hid the AR-15 under his white lab coat, tried to set himself on fire and then shot himself in the head at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, the sources said.
"Our hearts go out to the family of the doctor who passed away," Mayor de Blasio said Friday, adding that the city stands in "solidarity" with those who were "fighting for their lives."

Was he a genuine physician or did he practice voodoo? Our hospitals may have to hire them regardless of their education, for fear of being charged with racism if they don’t hire them.

I read he was forced to resign over sexual harassment and had threatened to come back and kill people.
New York City has laws against those kind of rifles.

Why is everyone now warned when something is “disturbing”? Back in the 1950s, as kids, we saw bloodier photos in supermarket tabloids and newspapers showing bodies bleeding out in pools of blood after a gang killing or hitch hiker murder.

No mention of his appearance (race) in the police description.
He didn’t have a license to practice medicine in this country as far as I know. I read that he had worked in a hospital pharmacy. Not sure if it was the Bronx Lebanon Hospital though. An article I read said he’d been living in California before coming back to NY a short while ago, and that he had several addresses.
I'm guessing that the strange configuration is thanks to the New York State Legislature and Governor Cuomo.

After Dillinger was shot and killed, kids ran up to mop up the blood with tissues to sell as souvenirs.
My first cousin graduated from a very reputable university in Europe with an MD, but it took him a long time to get his license to practice in this country. He did not exert his white privilege enough, I guess.

Right now the contents are: an assault sledgehammer, an assault can opener, an assault screwdriver and, in case of a real emergency, an assault paring knife.
