Insane: Sanctuary cities bill goes along party lines
American Thinker ^ | July 2, 2017 | Sylvio Canto, Jr.

On Thursday, the House voted 228-195 against sanctuary cities. Not surprisingly, it went down along party lines.

Am I the only one who finds it hard to believe that a member of the U.S. House would support a city that violates federal laws? Would we have a similar vote if some U.S. cities decided to make abortion illegal? or not issue "same-sex marriage" licenses? or a sanctuary cities for employers who refuse to contribute to Social Security? or citizens who refuse to file tax returns? Would Democrats be OK with that?

My guess is that Planned Parenthood might object to a U.S. county that made abortion illegal. The execs would be on the phone with their friends in the House and Senate within minutes!

DNC chairman Tom Perez would probably go loco if someone told him that a county refuses to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. He'd probably use profanity to say the law of the land has to be "f------ obeyed."

I think the chances of Kate’s Law getting through the Senate are nil. If the Demoncrats block it in the Senate again I can’t believe they won’t suffer huge losses in the 2018 elections.

Don’t Congressmen/women take an oath to uphold the Constitution & the laws of the land? Doesn’t upholding the idea of a “sanctuary city” violate that oath? There’s nothing in the Constitution that I know of that allows sanctuary cities. Seems to me that we have some in the Congress that need to change their ways or resign.

I tend to agree. The Senate Dems led by Chuckie have no integrity whatsoever, their only concern is to obstruct the GOP and President Trump and be damned with existing law.

They seem to be doubling down on stupidity and they’ll regret it in my view.

No surprise there. The DIMocRATs support lawlessness (or whatever) to advance their malignant ideas. What a bunch of anti-Free-America losers.

Open Rebellion.

These cities/states are in open rebellion against the US and should be occupied by federal troops to end the insurrection and enforce federal law.

Democrat view on these bills stems from an utter lack of decency within their party members!

I want a sanctuary city where the NFA of 1934 the GCA of 1968 and the misnamed Firearm Owner Protection Act of 1986 are not enforced.
Full auto for everyone.

I think we are all assuming too much of the Dems...

Dems don’t acknowledge laws they don’t agree with.

Dems take the oath to support the Constitution because it says whatever they say it says at any given moment.

etc,etc...

The Rats suck and the RINO’s are suck lite. I bet there are plenty of Dem pols against Sanctuary chities but they have to tow the party line. All politicians should be Independents and rid us of the legalized gang loyalties in DC.

Whatever happened to bargaining, e.g. “if you block this, we’ll block all of your pork”? The RINOs can exert a lot more pressure than they are.

Democrat Pols, Voters and Supporters ALL live off the Gub-mint teat. Moochers of all stripes.
Dems pack into big cities and live on top of each other, in a co-dependent, parasitic relationship.

Cut off “Other People’s Money” and it will all go away.
Get the Gub-mint back inside Constitutional boundaries and it will all ago away.

Why not? We have entire states that violate federal marijuana laws.

Maybe become a mayor of a small town and start nullifying ever federal thing you disagree with until the feds start bitching or you have an awesome to live in town.... i think a town with no federal taxes or federal restrictions could turn into a boom town.

Whenever the fed start bitching, just point out the sanctuary cities... watch liberal heads spin...

We used to have to pass amendments to ban stuff like booze.... funny how the progressive mindset weasel worded their way around the constitution in order to ban wacky weed about 30 years later, talk about your reefer madness....
