Gene Conley, the only man to win titles in both MLB and the NBA, died July 4, at 86.
Conley, a RHP with a 91-96 career record, played on the 1957 World Series Champion Milwaukee Braves, also won three NBA championships with the Boston Celtics.
Conley became the first athlete to play for three professional teams in the same city (Celtics, Red Sox, Braves).
Great athlete. RIP.
Wow, I didn’t know anyone had won titles in 2 major sports.
