She’s 84. Trump is in his 6th month of his FIRST Presidency.
There will be no credible opponent. He is going to replace at minimum two more “Justices”. Breyer will stick it out for at least another 6 years because he is just as much a militant Marxist as Ginsburg is. But even he will get tired. Especially if he becomes is the loyal opposition.
And let’s not forget Alito. He may feel comfortable in leaving now, knowing that he won’t be replaced by a Marxist martinet.
Trump could have a Grand Slam here and they know it.
All of the Evils perpetrated on us - Abortion, mass illegal immigration because of Plyler v. Doe, attacks on the Christian church under the guise of “separation of church and state”, “diversity” as a “compelling State interest”, the abrogation of the Second Amendment and absurd expansion of the First (Bestiality is free speech!) - come into play as the Warren Court is finally defeated.
It will be beyond healing. The decisions will start to be 6-3 for the better part of 30 years.
What will be healed are the United States.
This in itself is why we elected President Trump. The Clinton appointments would have sealed the fate of the country Constitutionally for at least a generation.
I cannot sing Trump’s praises enough relative to Gorsuch. But it will need at least another two justices just like him to countermand the shenanigans of Roberts, who is a weak and political figure, hence seduced by the Left.
He was rumored to have been thinking of retiring at the end of this session. But that would have given Trump the chance to make a recess appointment of his choice as soon as Congress went on summer break.
I'm thinking Kennedy is hoping the Dems do well in the midterms, so that Trump sees a Dem controlled Senate who will refuse to confirm anybody but a liberal.
