Trey Parker, a co-creator of the Comedy Central staple South Park, says the next season of the not-for-children cartoon is going to be scaling back on political humor, according to an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
Parker, who also voices several characters in the long-running satire, thought showrunners were falling into the same trap as "Saturday Night Live," he tells the the Los Angeles Times in an interview published Thursday. He didnt want the show to turn into CNN, where viewers can just tune in to see what were going to say about [President] Trump.

As Rush has said..
Theyve [CNN] become a national joke
How many South Park Episodes mocked Barack Obama?
SP mocks everyone. I was actually looking forward to their take on recent events.
Wont be the same.
replay the ‘snuke’ episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The job is open, CNN having self-destructed.
I could make fun of Reagan or Trump all day and night and I like both of those presidents. Making fun has apparently become ‘savage lying attacks’. Too bad. Lotta’ great gags out there going undone...
You mean South Park didn't really post this?
Blame Canada
One of the SP guys said “We hate conservatives but we really f-—ing hate liberals.” Hollywood was spoofed in Team America World Police. America...Trump, yeah!
Im sure that crap family giy will make up for it.
“Canada; our mortal enemy”
MST3K
Mr Garrison ran against HRC and won. But we know that last season began with them expecting she would win. And all that Bruce Jenner nonsense & member berries. Stupid .

SP you are a fake...no a very fake cartoon.
South Park has always been good a skewering what it considers “extremism”, and that goes for both the left and the right. Although, it’s always funnier when they go after the left. Way back in Season 1 (Episode 12), they devoted a whole show to Mecha-Streisand, a mechanized, monstercized version of Barbra Streisand ala Godzilla.

Please explain.
That was the point I stopped watching South Park. It was the topic, it was just the way they did it. It wasn’t funny anymore.
